GFNS Staff

Sue Fiore, Director
Sue has been active in Early Childhood Education since 1973. Sue began as a 4’s teacher at Green’s Farms Preschool* (GFPS) and then became Director of GFPS in 1993. She is the mother of four children and the grandmother of five GFPS alumni. Sue and her husband live in Westport.




Laura RachinskyLaura Rachinsky, Executive Assistant
Laura worked as the Administrative Assistant for GFPS for eleven years. In addition to being the office manager of GFNS, Laura is a substitute teacher for all of the classes. “Mrs. R”, as the kids affectionately call Laura, is also an assistant 4’s teacher. Laura has obtained her Child Development Certificate from The Council for Professional Recognition in Washington, D.C. and is certified by the State of CT as a "Designated Head Teacher for a Child Day Care Center for Children ages 3-5 years of age". Laura is the mother of two GFPS* alumni.


*Prior to 2003-04, many GFNS staff members were employed by the Green's Farms Pre-School (GFPS), which preceded GFNS at the same location.


GFNS Teachers

Jayne AbbottJayne Abbott, Assistant 2’s Teacher
Jayne came to GFPS in 1998 as a Munchkins Teacher. In September 2000, Jayne began teaching the 2’s with Wendy Abed. Jayne was born in England where she received her education and worked in social services and at a nursery school in London. Jayne and her family live in Westport. Both of her children attended GFPS.



Wendy AbedWendy Abed, Lead 2's Teacher
Wendy taught at GFPS for three years before the school became Green’s Farms Nursery School (GFNS) in 2003. Prior to teaching at GFPS, Wendy taught special education at Bernard Fineson Developmental Center in Manhattan. Wendy is the mother of three children, one who attended GFPS. Wendy and her family reside in Westport.



Megan AdamsMegan Adams, Assistant 4's Teacher
Megan joined GFNS in the fall of 2006 having previously she had worked at Community Nursery School for 5 years. Megan holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from Southern CT State University. She is the mother of two boys and lives with her family in Fairfield.




Linda ForcinoLinda Forcino, 3's Teacher
Mrs. Forcino joined GFNS from Holy Cross Nursery School in Fairfield where she taught threes and fours for nine years. She graduated from Endicott College and is studying Early Childhood Education and is working towards her CDA. Mrs. Fordino also volunteers as a Jr. Achievement mentor where she reads to Kindergarten classes. She lives in Fairfield with her husband, teenage son and puppy.




Patty GattoPatty Gatto, Lead 3-Day 4's Teacher
Mrs. Gatto joined GFNS from Holy Cross Nursery School in Fairfield where she taught threes and fours for 15 years. Mrs. Gatto holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. She lives in Fairfield with her husband and two children.





Judy GemzaJudy Gemza, 3's Aide
Judy brings 30+ years' experience working with young children in a Bank Street-based Kindergarten at a magnet school. She holds a degree in elementary education and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Judy is a certified teacher for pre-school through 8th grade, and brings her enthusiasm to the children of GFNS.



Linda JahnLinda Jahn, Assistant 3’s Teacher
Linda came to GFPS in 1998 as a Munchkins teacher and became an Assistant 3’s Teacher in September 2000. Prior to coming to GFPS, Linda was a substitute teacher at various Westport Nursery Schools and worked at Beginnings Daycare. Linda graduated from Baruch College. Linda has three children who attended GFPS. Linda lives in Westport with her family.



Amy LambAmy Lamb, Assistant 5-Day 4's Teacher
Amy taught at GFPS for nine years before it became GFNS. Amy received her BA in Sociology/Art from Denison University and has a Masters of Art Education from the University of Pittsburgh. Amy lives in Westport with her husband and three boys, all of who attended GFPS.




Terri PasquarelliTerri Pasquarelli, Lead 2-Day 3's Teacher
Terri taught at GFPS for five years as a 3’s teacher before it became GFNS. Prior to that, Terri taught English at the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy. In addition to teaching at GFNS, Terri is active in her community. She is an active PTA Board member, Assistant Jr. Girl Scout leader and reading tutor in an elementary school. Terri and her family reside in Southport.



Debra RossDebra Ross, Music Teacher
Founder and Director of Creative Music for Children, LLC, Debra offers a varied music program to our children. Accompanied by the guitar, the children use rhythm sticks, egg shakers and scarves while enjoying a varied selection of music and rhythms. Creative movement is a strong component of the program.



Diana VarnotDiana Varnot, 3's Teacher
Ms.Varnot came to GFNS from Earthplace in 2007. She has earned her CDA, and enjoys continuing her education in emergent curriculum. Ms. Varnot lives in Fairfield with her daughter and puppy.






Ginny VastGinny Vaast, Munchkins Teacher/3's Aide
Ginny came to GFPS in 2002 as the Munchkin teacher. Prior to coming to GFPS, Ginny ran an at-home daycare. Ginny studied elementary education at Findlay College. Ginny has two children and two grandchildren and ives with her husband in Sandy Hook, CT.




Pat WorkmanPat Workman, Assistant Director/
Lead 5-Day 4's Teacher

Pat became a 5-Day 4’s teacher in 1984. In 1999 she was named the Assistant Director of the school. Pat has an A.S. Degree from Bay Path College. Pat is married and has three children and four grandchildren. Pat and her husband reside in Milford.
